Located at 2822 Minnesota Avenue, the Montana Rescue Mission Men’s Shelter serves; guests who lodge at the shelter overnight, residents who live at the shelter, and community members who access services, but do not lodge with us. Women’s lodging is separate from the men’s and women are offered lodging at the Montana Rescue Mission Women’s and Family Shelter; located at 2520 1st Avenue North.
We are committed to serving our guests in the best possible way and whenever appropriate, we direct people to outside agencies where they may access help that is not available through our services. We provide access and referral to many other community agencies through our joint venture with the Deering Clinic (Health Care for the Homeless Clinics). Case management extends assistance with; crisis situations, life skills training, and referrals to any needed outside providers. Healthcare for the Homeless also provides on-site counseling through a chemical dependency counselor and a licensed clinical therapist.
Meals, Provisions, and Dorm:
Three nutritious meals are prepared and served to the residents six days a week (two on Sundays and holidays) through the help of staff, residents and volunteers. The Men’s Shelter is also the central location for our Mobile Outreach Vans. The Mobile Outreach Van goes out to locations on the north and south side 5 nights. We mobilize two vans into the Billings community 6 nights a week to offer sandwich and soup suppers to those in need.
Overnight shelter is offered for daily guests. The Montana Rescue Mission Men’s Shelter overnight capacity is 54 beds; plus overflow. Guests are required to check in each evening for overnight lodging. Clean bedding, towels and basic items such as toiletries are supplied every night for each guest.
For spiritual growth and encouragement, our residents and guests may attend non-denominational chapel services. These are offered every evening and are not mandatory to attend. In addition, various devotions and classes are offered weekly to aid in deepening connections with God.
A new program called the Living Upward program is designed for men that must have full time employment and must have a good desire to build their spiritually based life on the teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord. Men will attend classes 5 nights per week. Please call the Mens Mission for more details on this program at 259-6079.
