Financial Responsibility

The Montana Rescue Mission is firmly committed to good stewardship of funds entrusted to us by our friends and donors. We promise to use your gifts wisely and effectively in Christ’s name. To ensure our financial accountability to you, our donor, we are a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

The ECFA is comprised of over 1,200 charities, religious and educational organizations, which are qualified for tax-exempt, non-profits status. ECFA’s steadfast purpose is to enunciate, maintain, and manifest a code of financial accountability, ethics, and reporting which is consistent with enlightened and responsible Christian faith and practice.

In seeking to be responsible financial stewards, we have committed to the standards of the ECFA, including:

• Board of Directors and Audit committee – We are governed by a responsible board. The Montana Rescue Mission Board of Directors will review the annual audit and maintain direct communications between the board and the independent certified public accountants.

• Audited Financial Statements – We obtain an annual audit performed by an independent certified public accounting firm in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America.

• Financial Disclosure – We will provide a copy of our current audited financial statements upon written request, and provide other disclosures as the law may require.

• Conflicts of Interest – We avoid conflicts of interest. Transactions with related parties may be undertaken only if the material transactions are fully disclosed in the audited financial statements, a comparable valuation exists and our board has acted upon and demonstrated that the transaction is in the best interest of the MRM.
